Biologisches Insektizid Bacillus thuringiensis

A microbial insecticide based on Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki. It works only on caterpillars (Lepidoptera larvae) that eat treated foliage. It has no effect on bees, beneficial insects or mammals when used as directed. That makes it a common tool in IPM and organic programmes. Apply when larvae are young and feeding. Bt breaks down in UV light, so reapplication may be needed. Plant-protection products need national authorisation. Supplied only for crops and countries where the product is registered.
