Overview

Seasonal hive rental for insect-pollinated crops such as orchards, berries, oilseed rape and seed crops. Colonies are inspected before placement and moved in at the start of bloom. Hives are spread across the block for even foraging. Typical stocking runs from about 2 to 8 hives per hectare, depending on crop and variety. Growers agree a spray plan in advance so no bee-toxic products are applied while hives are on site. Rental covers transport, placement, a mid-bloom check and removal.
